Working Structure Fire - 5 Drake Knoll, Lewes

After an already busy afternoon with several alarms during a heavy thunderstorm, at 1644 hrs Lewes Fire Dept., was dispatched to a working structure fire at 5 Drake Knoll in Lewes. The fire was mainly on the second floor in the roof area and believed to be the result of a lightening strike. Lewes was assisted by the Rehoboth, Milton, Georgetown, and Indian River Fire Depts. Slaughter Beach and Millsboro were also called for standbys. Crews were on scene for approx 2 hours. The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshals office.
