A smoke detector activated before melting alerting the resident of the fire. Both he and his dog were able to evacuate without injury. Deputy Chief Steve Evans reported smoke showing from rear of the building. An aggressive interior attack was made by the firefighters confining the fire to one room and content. The fire was quickly brought under control and is being investigated.
