On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, Lewes FD was alerted to a serious motor vehicle accident on Coastal Highway at the intersections of Hudson Rd / Steamboat Landing Rd. Upon arrival, units found a passenger vehicle that had collided with a tractor trailer. Both passengers in the passenger vehicle were seriously injured. Crews freed both passengers, and one was transported by ground to Beebe Hospital, while the second was transported by air to Chrisitana Hospital. Responding units included Engines 82-1, 82-5, and 82-9; Rescue 82; Ambulances B82, C82, D82, and E82; Command 82-8; SCEMS; Fire Police; and Delaware Trooper 2.
