Motor Vehicle Accident
Thu, Mar 22, 2018

At approximately 7:40 AM on March 22, 2018, Lewes FD was dispatched to a motor vehcile accident on northbound Coastal Highway at the Nassau Bridge.  First arriving units found a pickup truck on its side, with a single occupant uninjured but unable to self-extricate from the vehicle.  The windshield was removed from the vehicle, and the occupant walked out of the vehicle under his own power.

This is a good reminder that even if surface roadways are not icy, if the air temperature is at or below freezing, bridges can be icy and dangerous.

Responding units included Engines 82-1 and 82-9; Tanker 82-4; Rescue 82; Command 82-8; Ambulances A82 and D82; and Fire Police.
