House Fire at Malone's Bayside Marina
Sun, Mar 18, 2018

On Sunday, March 18, 2018, at approximately 3:15 AM, Indian River Fire Company (80) was alerted to a vehicle fire at Malone's Bayside Marina.  The initial call reported a golf cart on fire.  First arriving units from 80 found the golf cart on fire had spread to a residence, and a full box alarm was transmitted, bringing assistance from Lewes and Millsboro (83).  A resident advised units from 80 that there was still a subject trapped inside, and a rescue operation was started to locate and remove the trapped resident.

Tanker 82-4 was the second arriving unit, and their crew pulled a hand line and assisted with the search.  The resident was subsequently located, and two members from Lewes were part of the team that rescued and removed her from the residence.  She was transported to the hospital by Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad (91) and Sussex County EMS Paramedics in critical condition.

Responding units from Lewes included Engines 82-1, 82-3, and 82-9; Tanker 82-4; and Command 82-8.
