Working row house fire 224 Carter Way, Lewes
Sun, May 7, 2017

On May 7 at 01:07 Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Milton FD's and Medic 104 were alerted for a working fire on Carter Way in Lewes.  Command went en-route with 82-24 and was advised by Sussex EOC that it was a confirmed working fire spreading into the other residences around it. 82-5 was the first unit on scene and advised an end of the row apartment fully involved with exposure problems to the neighboring home. 82-15 arrived shortly after and assumed command.  Crews went to work stretching 2 hand lines, one going to the charley (rear) side of the house, the other into the exposure on the delta (right) side. Due to the fire conditions command upgraded to a second alarm bringing Indian River, Georgetown and Slaughter Beach FD's into the scene. Fire was contained to the two homes and smoke damage to a third. Units operated for 3 hours. Thanks to all neighboring companies for helping out.
