Life Member Howard Adkins passed away earlier today with his family by his side. Howard has served the department as Fire Police Captain, Superintendent of Supplies, and been awarded the Louis A Rickards Presidents Award. Howard was also a Life Member of the Sussex County  Fire Police Association serving  as 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President, and President during his tenure. He was also a Life Member of the Delaware State Fire Police Association. 

Howard will be greatly missed by his family, friends, Lewes Fire Department and the community that he served. We offer our condolences to the Adkins family for their loss. Please keep the Adkins family in your thoughts and prayers. 

A full Firemans Funeral  will be held Friday April 4th at Melsons Funeral Home in Long Neck. Visitation is  from 10-11 with services starting at 11. There will be a reception following the procession at Lewes-Rehoboth station 3 on John J Williams Highway just west of Peddlers Village.
