Lewes Fire Department Places 2 New Ambulances In Service
Thu, Sep 12, 2013

The Lewes Fire Department has placed two new ambulances in service. The ambulances were built by American Emergency Vehicles (AEV) TraumaHawk located in Jefferson North Carolina. The units were purchased to maintain the department’s ability to respond to an ever increasing call volume; Lewes Fire Department is on pace to exceed 3500 EMS responses for the year. These units will permit the department to deploy ambulances at each of the three stations allowing for a reduced response time.

The units are medium duty mounted on 2013 International 4300 Durastar chassis.  Safety, functionality, and durability were the focus of the design. These units are in service and serving the department and community.
