AFA dispatch turns out to be a fire - 34341 Summerlyn Drive Building 3, Summerlyn
Thu, Aug 16, 2012

On Thursday August 16, 2012, at approximately 0101 hours, the Lewes Fire Department was dispatched for an automatic fire alarm at building three Summerlyn Drive. Upon the arrival of OIC EMS Chief Glenn Marshall, it was determined that there was a fire outside of a ground unit. Prior to fire company arrival, the building's sprinkler system had activated and two neighbors used two fire extinguishers to put out the fire. Upon the arrival of Engine 82-5, crews checked for extension on the ground floor and units above the fire. It was determined that the fire was out and no extension was found. Since the fire involved two gas meters, they were both isolated and turned off.  The sprinkler system was also shut down until maintanence could replace the sprinkler head. Scene was placed under control at 0122 hours. All fire apparatus was returned at approximately 0153 hours. Scene was then turned over to the FMO.

Units on scene: Command 82, Engine 82-5, Ambulance 82, DSFP, and FM16.
