Vehicle fire contained to engine compartment - Cape Henlopen Drive ITAO Pilot Point

On Sunday August 12, 2012, at approximately 1040 hours, the Lewes Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Cape Henlopen Drive in the area of the Pilot Point. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from a white  jeep stopped on the west side of the roadway.  The trash line was pulled from Engine 82-3 and used for fire extinguishment. Upon arrival of Rescue 82, the spreader was used to pop open the hood for better access into the engine compartment. Fire was extinguished and all fire apparatus was placed available by 1113 hours. Fire Police remained on seen assisting Lewes PD until approximately 1121 hours.

 

Units on scene:  Command 82, Engines 82-2 & 82-3, Rescue 82, Ambulance D-82, DSFP, DRBA, and Lewes PD.
