Two vehicle MVC ties up Southbound traffic on Coastal Highway - Coastal Highway ITAO Shore Distributors

On Wednesday July 18, 2012, at approximately 1619 hours, the Lewes Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Coastal Highway ITAO of Shore Distributors.  Fire Chief, Wally Evans responded to the scene and assumed Command.  Chief Evans advised EOC of a two vehicle accident in the Southbound lane of Coastal Highway. One vehicle was in the right lane and the other vehicle was approximately 100 yards further down the road on the far left turn lane. Coastal Highway was shut down to only one lane of traffic Southbound via the bus lane. As medical personnel were stablizing the patient and perparing to transport BLS to Beebe, other crew members performed vehicle stablization, and debris and fluid clean up. All fire apparatus was returned at approximately 1642 hours. DSFP remained on scene performing traffic control until approximately 1724 hours.
