Vehicle versus pole MVC shuts down Route 24 - John J. Williams Hwy ITAO Sunset Lane

On Monday July 9, 2012, at approximately 0300, The Lewes Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on John J. Williams Highway ITAO of Sunset Lane.  Upon arrival of Engine 82-5, Fire Chief Wally Evans reported to EOC of a vehicle into a pole, with the pole snapped in half. Chief Evans assumed the command. It was determined that there were no patients. The driver of the vehicle was turned over to the Delaware State Police. John J. Williams Highway was shut down by fire police and fire apparatus. At approximately 0336 hours, All Fire and EMS apparatus was returned. Fire Police remained on scene until approximately 0520 hours, waiting for DELDOT to bring arrow boards to continue the roadway closure.
