Working House Fire - Ship Carpenter Square

On Thursday 3-22-2007 @ 0910hrs, Lewes (82), Rehoboth (86), Milton (85) and Sussex County Medics were dispatched to a working house fire in Ship Carpenter Square. Engine 82-5 arrived arrived on scene first with smoke and fire showing from the roof of a 2 1/2 story historic house of balloon type construction. 82-19 (Baynum) established 82 Command. Arriving units went to work on the roof and on the 2nd floor to attack the stubborn attic fire. Additional manpower was called to the scene from Indian River (80), Georgetown (77), Millsboro (83), Slaughter Beach (89), and Elendale (75) for overhaul and salvage. The State Fire Marshall is investigating.
